(The #4 on his age has worn considerably with deterioration from weather and shallow engraving.
Charles was the first known child of Willis and Samantha. June, 1860 Census reports Charles as being 3 yrs. old. Family records show his birth as Summer of 1857. Gravestone states his death as being 1862.
