David Allen Lightfoot, oldest son of George and Ruth Lightfoot was born in Athens County, Ohio Nov 4, 1870 and departed this life Sept 21, 1898 of the dreaded disease typhoid fever at the age of 28 years 8 months and 17 days.
He had been ailing for seven years of heart and stomach trouble. He bore the seven long weeks of intense suffering patiently and told this companion he was ready and not afraid to go. Allen was a good, honest, indstrious[sic] man and was highly respected by all who knew him.
He was married to Nancy Bolin Sept 14, 1892 and their union was blessed with one child.
He leaves a loving wife, one little daughter, a mother, two sisters, three brothers and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
He has gone to join his father who has gone on before.
Rev. Dutton preached his funeral at Carleton church and loving hands gently laid him to rest in that burial ground with his father.

Allie Lightfoot a young married man of Bedford township died last Thursday of typhoid fever and was buried Friday afternoon in the Kingsbury burying ground. He was only 28 years of age and was an industrious young man and well respected in the community in which he lived.
He leaves a wife and one child.
