Charles was the son of George Washington and Mary Isabella Jones. He was a graduate of Ohio Medical College in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a prominent Preble County physician and was a well liked member of the community. He passed away from typhoid fever leaving wife, Lillie, and children Eleanor, Hannah Mary, and Grandville Reynard.
