Denver GEARHEART

Milldale Cemetery (School Land Hollow) Cemetery
Scioto County,
Ohio

Denver Gearheart was born 21 Nov 1921 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Lewis Gearheart and wife Martha Fletcher, both Kentucky natives. Denver died on 07 Dec 1921 in Portsmouth. Information from a 1982 cemetery survey: "Age 11 days. Homemade stone, almost unreadable. Down on ground." Note: The inventory states Denver was born and died in 1922. But a family member said Denver was born and died in 1921, which is confirmed by Ohio death records. A 1997 inventory spells his name Denver Geapheart and notes the inscription: Asleep In Jesus. Sources: 1. Milldale Cemetery inventory done 20 Sep 1982 by Virgil and Marguerite Ramsey. (Scioto Co. Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society, newsletter, July/August 1996). 2. Information from a family member. 3. FamilySearch Labs online, Ohio Deaths 1908-1953. 4. 1997 inventory by Wayne Campbell, Brenda Campbell and Richard Underwood. This inventory and a map of the cemetery showing mostly fieldstones are available at the Portsmouth Public Library. Denver's burial site is No. 104 on the map.
