John was born in Harrison Co. WV. He died Salem Twp., Meigs Co., Ohio Dec 25, 1895 aged 67y9m14d]
[Civil War Pension Records show his widow Rebecca applied for a pension Jan 20, 1896. These same papers show John was a Union soldier not a confederate soldier as the Salem Twp. Cem. book states]
