Bertha E. Steinberger, age 96, of Saint Paris, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2007 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Bertha was born on August 6, 1911 in Mad River Township, Champaign County, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late C. Willard and Anna Belle (Zea) Steinberger. The last member of her immediate family, Bertha is survived by seven nieces and nephews:

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Dolly Steinberger Fullerton, Susan Steinberger Mohr, Ruth Steinberger Yandle, Alice Steinberger, Mary Steinberger; and her brothers: John J. Steinberger, Peter G. Steinberger and James A. Steinberger. Bertha was a lifelong member of the Myrtle Tree Baptist Church, St. Paris joining in 1918. A 1929 graduate of Westville High School, Bertha also received an Associates Degree from Urbana Junior College and a Bachelors Degree from Wittenberg University. A retired teacher of 33 years, Bertha taught at Westville School and the Urbana City Schools.
