Elmer Journell, 81, died Tuesday in Mercy Memorial Hospital.
Born in Champaign County March 29, 1897, a son of David C and Olive Comer Journell, he was a veteran of World War I and a retired farmer.
His wife, the former Opal Hill, died in 1974
Survivors include a brother, Raymond of St. Paris, and two sisters, Mrs. Oma Huston of Columbus and Mrs. Nannie Anderson of Urbana.
Services will be conducted Friday at 2 pm in the Baker-Cisco Funeral Home by the Rev. Walter Cain, pastor of Concord and Westville United Methodist Churches. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery
