SNYDER, Betty J. 82, of Urbana, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Forest Glen Health Campus, Springfield. She was born May 3, 1926 in Mechanicsburg, a daughter of Roland D. and Blanche (Walters) Bowen. Betty graduated from Mechanicsburg High School, was one of the earliest female auctioneers in the state of Ohio, retired from Grimes Manufacturing and was the owner of A Js Used Furniture in Mutual. She loved gardening, flowers, camping, crocheting, reading, painting on glassware and canvas, collected crystal ornaments and was a member of NCHA. Survivors include two sons; Scott Snyder and his wife Jennifer of CoCoa, FL, and David Snyder and his wife Lori of Springfield, a daughter, Tamara Gibson and her husband Mark of St. Paris, five grandchildren; Andrew Snyder, Lee Johnson, Nikki, Hannah and Madison Gibson, a sister, Janice King of Citra, FL, a brother, Roland Bowen, Jr. of Citra, FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald A. Snyder on April 6, 1998, her parents of Mechanicsburg, and a sister Nancy Laird. The family would like to give a special appreciation to the staff at Forest Glen Health Campus for their care of Betty. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2008 in the WALTER-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, Urbana where services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 22, 2008 with Rev. Clifford Kissinger officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris.
