SPURGEON, Robert E. "Bob" age 65, of St. Paris passed away unexpectedly at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in his residence. He was born in Piqua on August 5, 1944, the only child of the late Floyd and Mary (Dodson) Spurgeon. He is survived by his fiancé, Sandy Whitmore of St. Paris, and her family: a daughter Melissa Ann Whitmore-Oberg and her husband, Philip of Seattle, WA, a granddaughter, Jocylynn Isabella Oberg, mother, Barbara Bell of Springfield, sister, Cheryl Bell-Cunningham of Centerville, and a brother Thomas (Joni) Frey, of Springfield. Bob is also survived by several cousins, and his beloved dog, Scooter. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Graham High School and he was an avid supporter of Graham High School Athletics. He retired from Jim Foremans as an auto parts manager after 32 years of service. Currently he was a truck driver for Smails Trucking. Bob was a member of the Westville K of P and the Urbana Moose. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Spring Grove Cemetery, N. Heck Hill Road, St. Paris with his cousin, Reverend Craig Siebert presiding. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at the Urbana Moose Lodge, 634 Mosgrove, Urbana, Ohio from 1:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations in Bobs name be given to P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Rt. 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078. Envelopes will be available at the graveside service and at the Moose Lodge. Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, St. Paris, Ohio is serving the family
