Donald Larry Clark, 72, of Urbana, passed away February 10, 2015, in his residence.
He was born August 6, 1942, in Urbana, Ohio, and was a 1960 graduate of Urbana High School. He attended Clark State, Park University and received his Master Degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Don served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. After 8 years of service he continued working at WPAFB in the Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory where he retired in 1997 as Chief Supervisor. After retirement, Don continued working for Fox River Paper, William Carter Logistics and helped deliver flowers for Ethel's Flowers and Gifts.
He was a member of the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union. He could fix anything as he was an all-around handyman. Don enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, running (he ran 10 marathons) and reading, especially history and genealogy.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret M. Clark of Urbana, two daughters, Michele R. Grassi of Dublin, Ohio, and Christie R. (Greg) VonVille of Worthington, Ohio, his granddaughter, whom he adored, Rachel M Grassi, step-brothers and sisters, Sherry (Dick) Freyhoff, David (Kay) Blue and Robert (Alice) Blue, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilber F. Clark, and his mother and step-father, Rena E. (Anderson) and Brownie Denbow.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 5-8 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, 235 Miami St., Urbana, Ohio. Funeral services to Celebrate Don's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, in the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union with the Revs. David VanHoose and Mike Grable officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Urbana. Military honors will be provided by Pearce-Kerns American Legion Post 120.
