PIQUA — William "Bill" Huffman, 69, 2449 Aiken Road, Piqua, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 8:35 a.m. surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 1, 1948, in Piqua, Ohio, the son of Mary (Harp) Huffman of Piqua and the
late Aubrey Huffman. On Sept. 12, 1987, Bill married Brenda G. Burchwell who preceded him
in death May 4, 2012.
He is survived by one son Jason Huffman, and his mother, Mary Huffman both of Piqua.
Mr. Huffman served his country as a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He worked for Bob Whitman for 23 years and later became the owner/operator of Aiken Road Garage. He also served as a Washington Township Trustee.
Bill was a member of the Houston Congregational Christian Church, life-member of Sidney American Legion Post 217, AMVETS and VFW, member of the Newport Sportsman Club and Hemlock Sportsman Club-Piqua, Sidney Eagles, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, and life member of the National Corvette Club, Amateur Trapshooting Association and NRA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with Pastor James Manuel officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Houston Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. The Sidney American Legion Post 217 will conduct a memorial service Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Houston Congregational Christian Church, American Legion Post 217, and Houston Rescue Squad.
