George Washington Burson was born 12 Feb. 1852 in Lodi, Athens Co. Ohio to William and Keziah Jayne (STARKEY) BURSON. Geo. W. was a business owner one being a Hardware store in Pomeroy. He died as a result of an automobile accident on 27 Sept. 1927 at Holzer Hospital, Gallipolis, Ohio. His second marriage was to Jane (Gilcrist) MURRAY in 1903, the widow of William MURRAY and mother of two sons and one daughter, Frank, Otho and Lucy MURRAY.
Harriett was born 21 Aug 1853 to John and Catherine (ATOR) CATHER. She and Geo. had 8 children; Frankie, LuLu, Rodolph, Hayes, Chloe, Flossie, Ralph BURSON. Harriett died as a result of being struck by lightening while taking clothes off the clothes-line.
