b MAR 17, 1915, Milton Twp, Jackson County, s/o Clyde Cecil, coal miner, b 1890 Coal Twp, Jackson Co. and Sada Hartley, b 1893 Huntington Twp, Gallia County; the 3rd of 6 children

Minnie Venita Harder
b JUN 18, 1915, Vinton Twp, d/o Herbert Race b 1871 Clay Co, KS, and Emma Ethel Fitzpatrick, b 1875 Radcliff, Harder, the 7th of 8 children

Clifton James Spires married Minnie Venita Harder on May 1,1936.

Parents of two children: Julia Marie, b Apr 9, 1942, Athens, and Clifton James, Jr, b Feb 6, 1951, Columbus

Clifton, a licensed plumber, member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 108, and Minnie moved to Columbus in 1944; Minnie Venita was employed as Executive Assisant to the Director at the Ohio State Univesity Library. In 1943, Clifton James, employed by a Civilian Construction Corps traveled to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska; in 1948, he again traveled to work on the island of Guam. The couple then lived and worked in Columbus. Minnie retired from the Ohio State University in 1977, Clifton, Jr. retired from the plumbing trade in 1977, when they returned to Wellston.

Clifton James, Sr. died JAN 15, 1999, 83Y, Wellston
Minnie Venita died OCT 29, 2000, 85Y, Wellston.

Clyde Cecil (1890-1952) and Sada (1893-1925) Spires are buried at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Wellston.
Herbert Race (1871-1966) and Emma (1875-1950) Harder are buried at Radcliff Cemetery.
