"Oscar" Ray Grimes was a major league first baseman. His two greatest seasons were 1921 and 1922. In 1921, he was in the top 10 in his league in on-base percent, doubles, walks, times on base, and hit by pitches. He repeated all those in 1922 and was also in the top 10 in his league in batting average, slugging percent, total bases, triples, home runs, RBI, extra-base hits, and fewest at-bats per home run. On July 23, 1922, he had his seventeenth straight game of driving in at least one run, a major league record.
