1870 U.S. Census – Eckles, James - OHIO , Champaign, Rush Twp. - Age: 26, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: OH - Series: M593 Roll: 1179 Page: 339. Wife of Polly listed at age 21. Daughter, Estella, shown as age 2, and son, James, shown as age 8/12th. All born in Ohio.
1880 U.S. Federal Census – NA Film #T9-998, Family History Film # 1254998, page 334C, ED26, North Lewisburg, Champaign County, Ohio:
Eckles, Polly, age 38; Gela (?), female age 12; James age 10.
James Eckles, buried alone at the Butcher Cemetery, died May 20, 1871 at age 28. He and his family appear in the 1870 U.S. Census. James' wife, Polly, was the daughter of Samuel and Fannie AKA Fanny Hutchinson. Polly Hutchinson Eckles died June 21, 1931 in Marion, Ohio. She is buried at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Rush Township, near North Lewisburg.
