Rev James ROBINSON

Mitchell (Darby Township) Cemetery
Union County,
Ohio

Rev James Robinson dedicated his life to the church with the death of his first wife and child. He was a native of Washington County, Pennsylvania, a graduate of Jefferson College and married his second wife, Mary Welch in 1802, when he was 33 years old. They had two children: John Welch and Elizabeth Wilson Robinson. In 1808, he accepted a call to serve the Mt. Pleasant Church in Pickaway County, Ohio. Unfortunately, his second wife died there. About 1811, he married his third wife, Mary Scott and they had three children: Mariah H., James and Rebecca Robinson. They relocated to Union County where he continued to serve the Presbytery. His death came on 22 Apr 1847... he is First Lady Barbara Pierce Bush's great, great, great grandfather.
