John Parthemore Morse was a son of Ray Green Morse and Sarah Parthemore. John was born 28 Dec 1839 in Union County. He was a soldier in CO B, 86th, OVI, serving 10 months. Afterwards, he re-enlisted in CO G, First Ohio Artillery. After the war ended, on 29 Nov 1871, John married Mary Jane Mitchell, oldest daughter of David Mitchell and Mary Elizabeth Wingfield. Mary Jane was born 3 Dec 1851. John and Mary Jane had six children. John died 20 Jan 1913. Mary Jane's death was about twenty years later on 24 May 1935.
