Heyd Cemetery - Hanover Twp.
This cemetery is located on the property of Landoll's Mohican Castle at 561 Twp. Rd 3352 in Hanover Twp. in the southwest quarter of Section 25.
At one time a church, St. Jacobs Lutheran Church built abt 1836, was on the top of the hill by the cemetery and it was attended by both English and German settlers living in the area. There was an argument as to what language was to be spoken in the church.. The Germans in the end dug up their deceased in the cemetery and moved them to a spot down the road before The Castle off of Twp. Rd 3352.
