PASTOREK Joseph F. "Moose" Pastorek Jr., 71, of Marblehead and formerly of Columbus, Ohio, died suddenly Saturday morning, December 2, 2000 at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born March 16, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Joseph F. and Eleanor R. (May) Pastorek Sr. On February 27, 1949 he married his wife of 51 years, Virginia Rice. He was a photographer for the Columbus Dispatch retiring in February of 1991. After retirement he worked in circulation for the Port Clinton News Herald. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton and past member of Faith Lutheran Church, Columbus. He was also a past Boy Scout Master in Columbus and the Ohio Press Photographers for which he was a prizewinner in the late 60's for the "Best of Show" category. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; daughter, Susan B. Miller of Hillsdale, Mich.; sons, David M. of Columbus, Oh. and Wayne J. Pastorek of Grove City, Oh.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. His parents preceded him in death. Friends may call at the NEIDECKER-LEVECK & CROSSER FUNERAL HOME, PENINSULA CHAPEL, from 2-9 p.m. Monday, December 4, with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rev. Gerald Bauer will conduct a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. There will also be visitation at Schoedinger Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston, Columbus, Oh., with the family present from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus beginning at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Nodo officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that local donations be made to either Peace Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Seminary and in Columbus to Trinity Lutheran Seminary or Columbus Dispatch Charity Newsies. Local arrangements are being handled by the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel.
