Emma was born May 2, 1872 in Eichstetten, Baden, Germany and died Nov 19, 1968 in Grove City, Franklin, Ohio. D/O Reinhart Brandenberger (B:1831-Eichstetten), and Maria Salomea Walz (B:1840-Eichstetten). Her siblings included: Reinhard, August, Frederick, William, Albert, Maria, and Louise. (Two others, Amalie and Gustav, died in Infancy.)
On Feb 27, 1893, she arrived in New York, New York on the ship "La Gascogne" that departed from La Harve, France. Her father, Reinhart Brandenberger, her mother, Maria Salomea Walz Brandenberger, and two sisters, Maria Salomea and Louise arrived with her. Her older brothers arrived earlier; August in 1884, William in 1888, and Albert in 1891. Frederick arrived in the same time frame.
On Jun 9, 1896 she married George Edward Iftner, Jr., in the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Grove City, Franklin, Ohio. They had nine (9) children: George William Iftner (1897-1975), Edward Albert Iftner (1899-1993), Estella Emma Iftner (1900-1966), Elsie Louise Iftner (1901-1985), William Emil Iftner (1903-1979), Clara Elizabeth Iftner (1905-1983), Emma Margaret Iftner (1907-1990), Adolph William Iftner (1909-1970), and Freda Selma Iftner (1911-1953).
