Ohio

This is the "Original" headstone of George Iftner. Another with the word "Father" is also on his grave. He was born Apr 15, 1855 in Pleasant, Franklin, Ohio, and died Aug 25, 1914 in Pleasant, Franklin, Ohio. S/O George Edward Iftner, Sr. (B:1828-Germany), and Maria Margaretha "Margaret" Keller (B:1818-Germany). His siblings included: Barbara, Elizabeth, Christopher, Caroline, and Margaret.

Between 1875-1879 he married his first wife; but she evidently died young, because George noted he was a widower in the 1880 census.

Then on Jun 9, 1896 he married Emma Margaretha Brandenberger at the Evangelical Lutheran Church located in Grove City, Franklin, Ohio. He was 41, and she was 24. From this union were born 9 children: George, Edward, Estella, Elsie, William, Clara, Emma, Adolph, and Freda.
