Deceased Name: DECKER (RENSCH) Evelyn A. Decker
DECKER (RENSCH) Evelyn A. Decker, age 97, passed away Monday, April 1, 2009 at Westminster Thurber Community. Evelyn was a member of Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, where she served as an Elder and a Deacon; was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association; and sang in the Chancel Choir. She was a member of the Highland Garden Club and was an avid rose gardener and knitter. Evelyn was an auditor for the IRS for 27 years, and after retiring voluntarily prepared taxes for the elderly. Preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Decker, parents Homer and Hilda Rensch and brothers Kenneth, Edward, Elwood, and James. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (David) Colborn and Linda Pohle; grandchildren, David (Tracy), Stephen (Valerie), John (Rhonda), and Jeff (Susan) Colborn, Beth (Steve) Ormsby, Amy, and Kevin Colborn, Michael (Amy) Pohle, Matthew (Andrea) Pohle, and Susan (Joe) Aleshire; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Rensch. The family will receive friends 3-6 p.m. Sunday April 5 at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, April 6 at Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2930 W. Broad St. Rev. H. Leigh Holder-Bobo officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church in her memory.
