Isaac was born Jul 17, 1850 in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, and died Feb 2, 1921 in Washington, D.C. S/O Gillimus Demorest (B:1811-NY) and Lucinda Peterson (B:1813-OH). His siblings included: John, Susan, Leah, Harriet, Emily, Martin, Martha, William, and Louis.

On Oct 27, 1875 he married Lydia "Lida" P. Morris in Fairfield County. Ohio. She was born Feb 12, 1852 in Circleville, Pickaway, Ohio. D/O Solomon (B:1825-OH) and Martha Morris (B:1827-OH).

Isaac was a dental surgeon and first practiced in San Franciso. Then about 1880 he and his wife moved to Santiago, Chile to serve in a local hospital. It was there they had their only child, a son, Alfredo Lutz Demorest (1881-1934).

By 1910 they had returned to the United States, as they were living in Wilmington, New Castle, Delarware in the 1910 census.

In the 1920 census they were living in Washington, D.C.; where Isaac died a year later. His body was then brought back to Columbus, and he was buried at Green Lawn Cemetery.

His wife, Lida died in San Franciso on Jan 8, 1948.

Their son, Alfredo, followed his parents in working overseas, as he was the American Vice Consul of Trinidad Island when he died in 1934. His body was also brought back to Columbus, and he too was buried at Green Lawn Cemetery.
