Rt. Rev. Msgr. Benedict Rosinski
1860 - 1933
Monsignor Rosinski was pastor emeritus of St. Hedwig's parish at time of his death. Born in 1860 in Mogilino, Posnen, Poland to Sylvester Rosinski and Caroline Lewandowski. He he studied at the Royal Colleges of Gnesen and Kulm in Poland before coming to the US for theological studies in Cleveland, Ohio at St. Mary's Seminary. He was ordained in Cleveland on December 17, 1887. After ordination, he was assigned to St. Mary's parish in Sandusky, Ohio and then pastor of St. Adalbert's parish in Berea, Ohio. In 1892, he was appointed pastor of St. Stanislaus parish in Cleveland, Ohio where he remained for 15 years until assignment to St. Hedwig's parish in Toledo, Ohio on August 29, 1907.
