James H. Wilkerson was born Nov. 29,1758 in Fairfax, Virginia. He was the son of William Wilkerson and Sarah Ross. He was a Revolutionary War soldier and married Sarah Moore April 30, 1872 in Loudon County, Virginia. They were earlier settlers at Boonesborough, Kentucky and moved to Washington Township, Warren County, Ohio in 1805. He had nine children and died Dec. 4, 1834 in Washington Township, Warren County. He is buried at the Wilkerson Cemetery which is located at the family homestead on Spring Hill off of Wilmington Road.
