Enlisted as a Corporal on 13 November 1861 at the age of 21 in Company G, 77th Infantry Regiment Ohio. Transfered on January 17, 1865 from company G to company E. Mustered out Company G, 77th Infantry Regiment Ohio on July 9, 1865 in Clarksville, TX.
