Marion Jane Biars was born 30 Nov 1915 in Clay Township, Scioto County, Ohio, a daughter of John Phillip A. Biars and wife Catherine Middleton. Marion Jane, seven months old, died 30 Jun 1916 in New Boston, Ohio, and on 02 July 1916 was interred in Milldale Cemetery, also known as School Land Hollow Cemetery, Scioto County, Ohio. Marion, sister Opal and their father died during the Great Influenza Epidemic and were buried in Milldale, according to family members. Marion’s death certificate lists her cause of death as “lobar pneumonia [word unclear]” with a contributory cause of “ileo colitis.” Note: There are similarities in the biographical details for Marion Biars and Mary Bauer, a baby who died on the same day and was buried in Milldale.
