Francis J. Czelusta
1881 - 1952
Born in Toledo to John and Michalina Czelusta. Was ordained 7 December 1907 and said his first High Mass on Christmas Day 1907 at St. Hedwig's Parish. His first appointment was as Assistant Pastor at St. Anthony's Parish and on 12 September 1912 was appointed Assistant Pastor at St. Stanislaus Parish. He later served as Pastor at St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Sandusky, Ohio. In 1921, was as appointed Pastor of St. Stanislaus. Fr. Czesluta was an expert in Polish history and enjoyed athletics, particularly baseball, having organized a Little League baseball team. His Pontifical High Mass for his funeral was presided over by Bishop George Rehring.
