Arthur R Werner Former Piquad
Services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 28, at the McClendon Funeral Home, Tallahassee, Fla., for Arthur R Werner, 85, of Tallahassee, formerly of Piqua, who died Saturday at Tallahassee Medical Center after a short illness. Burial was in a Tallahassee cemetery.
Mr. Werner, while in Piqua, had been a traffic manager for Yieldmoore Feeds until his retirement. Born in Germany, Dec. 2, 1882, he had operated a chain of stores in German cities until his business was taken over by Hitler. He and his first wife, Eta, Fled to the United States and came to Piqua July 1, 1939. She died Dec. 12, 1959. He was a member of Temple Anshe Emeth here and held membership in Temple Israel Tallahassee, after locating to that city three years ago.
He is survived by his wife Freda, whom he married six years ago and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Guenter Schwartz of Tallahassee and Mrs. Mary Werner Low of Bethesda, MD
