Korean War Veterans Honor Roll-Source of data-Private First Class Biddle was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on September 9, 1951. Private First Class Biddle was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal

COUNTY SOLDIER IS KILLED IN KOREA
Nelson Biddle, 22 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman A Biddle, Urbana route two, has been killed in action in Korea.
One of the two Biddle sons in the armed forces, he was a private first class with the 35th infantry Regiment.
News of his death was received by Mrs. Biddle today in a telegram from the Secretary of Defense.
a 1948 graduate of Concord school, Biddle entered the Army in December 1950, and received basic training and Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky.
Before entering the service, he was employed by the Standard Oil filling station on Water street in Urbana.
Previously he had worked four years for C.W. Blankenship on 213 Miami Street including summer vacations while he was still in school
His brother Seaman Apprentice Charles R Biddle, enlisted in the Navy last November and is a torpedoman's mated aboard the USS Prairie in the Pacific.
Born June 6, 1929, Nelson attended Concord school from the sixth grade on and was a member of the basketball and baseball teams. He also attended Westville school
Four of his younger brothers and sisters were in Concord school this morning and were unaware of the tragedy. They are Phyllis, a senior and Raymond, Wilma and Donna Biddle
