Walter Massie, 66 OF NEAR ST. PARIS DIES EARLY SUNDAY
Walter Massie, 66, of St. Paris route two, died Sunday at 12:30 am in his home following a three weeks illness.
He was born in Lawrence County Oct. 18, 1891, the son of James and Jane Knull Massie. He was a retired machinist having been formerly employed by the Robbins and Myers, Inc. of Springfield.
The deceased was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Lawrene County, the Springgs-Wing VFW Post of Urbana, was a Veteran of WWI and served in the Rainbow Division
He is survived by his wife, Elmond, Roger and Jerry Joe of St. Paris, Mrs. Roger Mahan, Mrs. John Lemmon and Mrs. James Schneider of St. Paris, Mrs. Russell Putnam of Memphis, TN: Mars Clyde Lee and Mrs. William Lee, both of Thackery, two brothers, Willard and Emmett Massie of Springfield, three sisters, Mrs. Earl Bron of Irontin, Mrs, Haddie Shepard and Mrs. Pearl Manning both of Willowwood, OH and sixteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at Myrtle Tree Baptist Church with Rev Mason Grove officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery
