Carl W Ramby, 88, of St Paris passed away at 4:04 am on Saturday, April 5, 2008, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center, Fountain Campus in Springfield.
He was born on March 11, 1920 in Champaign County, the son of Harry E and Bessie Jane (Heck) Ramby. His first wife, Mildred Runkle whom he married in February of 1939 preceded him in death in 1962. He then married Mary Barker Oliver on March 9, 1963 and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2006.
Carl is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Ray Miller of St Paris, one granddaughter Carol Travis of Troy, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. He is also survived by two step sons, Bill (Sylvia) Oliver of Xenia and Larry Oliver of Florida and many step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a son Carl Ramby Jr and a sister Nellie Fager.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S Springfield Street, St Paris, Ohio with Reverend William Blain of High Street Nazarene Church, Springfield presiding. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, N Heck Hill Road, St Paris. Visitation for family and friends will be held two hours prior to the funeral services, beginning at 10am on Tuesday in the funeral home.
