Donna Carol Lewis, 72, of Urbana went home to her Lord Sunday, October 14, 2012, in her home after a 15-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 23, 1940, in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Clarel and B Estelle (Provens) Strawsburg.
Donna worked at Dollar General for 15 years and at Stepping Stones for 3 years. She was a big supporter of the American Cancer Society and participated in the Relay for Life. Donna enjoyed Michigan football, going to casinos, horse racing and going to the movies. She loved spending time with her family and friends and watching her grandkids play sports. She is survived by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Dennis Lewis and David Supinger; grandson, Doug McMillen; brother, Clarel "Jr" Strawsburg; sister, Dorothy Leis.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2012, in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday in the funeral home with Pastor David Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, St Paris. Serving as pallbearers will be Fred Vorhees, Dave Rose, Dwight, Punky and Dana Lewis and Scott Curnutte.
