DAVIS, Nancilynn F. 85, of Piqua died on Tuesday July 20, 2004 at 3:25 am in the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Stanford, Kentucky on March 10, 1919 to the late Newell and Alva Holtzclaw Fox. She married Harold E. Davis on January 11, 1941 in Stanford, Ky.; he preceded her in death on December 7, 1985. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Fred Huntsman of Troy, Jane and Tim Dexter of Centerville; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Deborah Davis of Bradford; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a brother, Bill H. Fox of Stanford, Ky; and a sister, Rebecca Carter of Stanford, Ky. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Fox. Mrs. Davis was a 1937 graduate of Stanford High School, attended Eastern State Teachers College of Richmond, Ky., and obtained her teaching degree from University of Dayton in 1960. She retired in 1981 from the Piqua City School District following twenty-five years of teaching. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church and its Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Piqua History Club, Y W C A of Piqua, Forever 39 Club, Miami County Retired Teachers Association, and a life member of the Ohio Education Association. She also served as the Television Channel 2 weather checker for eighteen years. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday July 23, 2004 at 1:00 pm in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. David Mix officiating. Burial will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery.
