Bettie M. Kiser, 86, of Piqua died at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Seymour, Ind. to the late Cyrus and Loretta (Gardner) Hoffmire. She married Leonard L. Kiser Dec. 3, 1949 in the St. Mary Church Rectory. He preceded her in death Aug. 9, 2004.
Bettie came to Piqua when she was two years old and raised by her Godparents, Albert and Anna Volker. She attended St. Mary School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked as a Nurses Aide at the Dettmer Hospital. She and her husband shared over 50 years together and shared the same interests. They trained and raced Harness Horses at race tracks and County Fairs. They loved traveling, camping, grouse hunting in Canada and wintering in Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas L. Bolte as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery.
