LETCHER — Ted R. Hutson Jr. age 82, of Fletcher passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, in the Upper Valley Medical Center, Hospice Unit, Troy.

Born on March 18, 1933, in Lumberport, West Virginia, Ted was a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Hattie (Lindsey) Hutson Jr.

He married Jean Edgell on March 23, 1951, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 2008.

Ted is survived by five children, Ted (Tana) Hutson, of Sidney, Robin VanHook, of Sidney, Deborah Millhouse, of Fletcher, Vicki Hartzell, of Piqua, and Todd Hutson, of Fletcher, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Cottrell, of West Virginia, two brothers, Frank (Judy) Hutson, of New Bremen, Ohio, Rusty (Shirley) Hutson of West Virginia, and numerous nieces an nephews.

In additon to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Yeater, and a son-in-law, Darryl K. VanHook.

Ted attended the Redemption Christian Tabernacle of Tipp City. He served his country in the U.S. Army from Oct. 12, 1954, to Oct. 1, 1956. He was formerly employed by Decker's and Emory Worldwide. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles and cars.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan, 20, 2016m at 10 a.m. in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Fletcher, Ohio. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery with military honors by the V.E.T.S. of Piqua.
