Bernice Jean Vore, 79, of Troy, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, in the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. She was born Sept. 7, 1926, in Miami County, the daughter of the late Samuel Arthur and Demi (Hole) Elifritz.
She was married to Carl Willoughby Vore on Feb. 23, 1946, and he survives. She also is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sheila Vore of Piqua; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Kirby Linder of Arcanum; four grandchildren, Kevin Vore of Hilliard, Kelly and husband David Rohrbach of Fletcher, Jane and husband Josh Taylor of Fletcher and Jenna Linder of Arcanum; three great-grandchildren, Lance and Kaitlyn Rohrbach and Lacie Taylor, all of Fletcher; one sister, Veda and husband Ernest Wiltheiss of Troy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and five sisters.
Bernice graduated from Staunton High School in 1945. She was a teacher's assistant at Riverside School, Troy, and retired in 1988. She was a member of Union Baptist Church where at various times she served as a secretary, Sunday School teacher and youth group leader.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Union Baptist Church, 1833 Peterson Road, Troy, with the Rev. Oran Thomas presiding. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.
