Thomas "Tom" A. Harmon, 73, of Piqua, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in his residence. He was born on March 16, 1933, in Hariman, Tenn., the son of William and Laura (Hester) Harmon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nola (Sorrell) Harmon of Piqua, and five children and their spouses, Thomas L. and Tina Harmon of Piqua, Laura and Charles Otte of Covington, Jeanette and Michael Blackburn of Minnesota, Annette and James Bauman of Clayton and Kathy and Mark Wantz of Springboro. He was a loving grandfather to 1 1 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Tom also is survived by two stepbrothers, Harrison (Christine) Whitaker of Troy and and Leon (Rita) Whitaker of Dayton; two stepsisters, Pauline (Harold) Emrick of Cridersville and Virginia Haines of Dayton; and his loving in-laws, Bert, Mary, Patty, John, and Dave and many nieces, nephews and friends.
His father, William Harmon and his mother, Laura Whitaker preceded him in death.
Tom was a floor mechanic and worked for M.L. Dunn's and Bockrath Carpet, both of Dayton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with the Rev. Russ Tichenor of the Fletcher United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
