Leo E. Duncan, 80, of St. Paris, formerly of New Carlisle, passed away at 5:54 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, in Community Hospital, Springfield.
He was born March 4, 1926, in Jeffersonville, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Wears) Duncan. He married Mary Anderson on Feb. 27, 1954, and she survives.
He also is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Garry Heinlein of Huber Heights, Josie Duncan and Lisa Duncan, both of St. Paris; four grandchildren, David Collins of Chillicothe, James Collins of Troy, Tracy demons of St. Paris, and Matthew Lee Duncan of Ludlow Falls; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mabel Schuler of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va.; and brother, Leonard Duncan of Washington Courthouse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his only son, Dale Lee Duncan; and brothers, Raymond and Paul Duncan.
Leo served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked for Dinner Bell and retired in 1988 from Gilardi's in Troy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, with Pastor Mark Hackworth of the Renewed Strength Church of Westville, presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher with graveside military honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad of Miami County
