Charles O. Edge, 86, of Tipp City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, in his residence. Born on Oct.19, 1929, in Piqua, Ohio, Charles was a son of the late Walter H and Mary (Wilson) Edge. He married Lois E. Manning on April 25, 1954, and she survives.
He is also survived by three children: George (Sherron) Edge of Grove City, Ohio, Cheryl (John) Kershner of Grove Port, and Dave (Shelly) Edge of Kettering, Ohio.
He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Andrew Edge, Rebecca Edge, Jared Kershner, Nathan Kershner, David (Kristen) Edge and Chelsey Edge.
He is also survived by a brother, James S. Edge of Denver, Colo., and a sister Rosemary ( Richard) DeBaker of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Charles was a 1947 graduate of Piqua Central High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia. He was a tool and dye maker for 46 years with General Motors in Dayton. Charles loved to camp and was a member of the Holiday Rambler Campers' Club.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher, Ohio, with the Rev. John Seagraves presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery with military honors
