Charlie (Chuck) Hale, 69, of 3300 Loramie-Washington Road, Houston, died at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy at 9:50 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, following a brief illness.
He was born July 22, 1940, in Dwale, Ky., the son of the late William and Alice (Hall) Hale.
Surviving is his wife, Nancy (Lawson) Taylor Hale; two children, Charlotte Huelsman and husband Ed of Fort Loramie and Christine Hale Didier of Houston; three step-children, Curtis Taylor, Charles Taylor and Melissa Taylor; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loraine (Cory) Epperson of Sidney and Rebie Prater of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and one brother, William Hale of Piqua.
He was preceded by four sisters, Josie Hale, Ocie Webb, Virginia Bolin and Ruth Hackworth; and three brothers, Cletus, Eugene and Russell Hale.
Mr. Hale had been employed in the maintenence department at the former Miami Industries in Piqua. He was a member of the Piqua Eagles and the Piqua Fish and Game. He hobbies were landscaping and gardening. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney with Pastor Curtis Taylor.
