Shirley Ann Smith, 68, of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. She was born on Oct. 1, 1934 in Lockington, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Gladys E. (Ritter) Holly. She married Harden Smith on Feb. 28, 1992 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1993. Shirley is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricardo and Robbie Lynn of Maryland and Mike and Laura Lynn of Colorado; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Terri Lynn of Virginia, Kim and Hugh Schweitzer of Anna, Pam Lynn of Seattle, Wash., and Jenny and Glenn Hill of Mississippi; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joseph and Lily Holly of Sidney, Harold and Rheta Holly of London, and Vincent Holly of Sacramento, Calif.; five sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Lovett of Carolina Beach, Fla., Helen Omlor of Baltimore, Md. Katherine Gilmour of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jean and Jim Barlow of Andrews, N.C., and Joan Francis of Sidney; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Holly. Shirley retired from Ross Aluminum Foundry, Sidney after 25 years of service and she was a member of the Union Baptist Church, Troy. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Suber Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Fletcher. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Union Baptist Church, 1833 E. Peterson Road, Troy, with Pastor David Mix officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery.
