Cordella T. Clark, age 92, of Saint Paris, OH passed away at 9:42 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Born on August 16, 1923 in Champaign County, Cordella was a daughter of the late William Elis and Gladys Eulalia (Harvey) Brown. She married Paul E. Clark on June 19, 1971 and he survives in St. Paris. Cordella is also survived by two grandsons, Brad Thornton of St. Paris and Quinton Thornton of Florida; and four great grandchildren, Geoffrey, Meaghan, Josie, and Reagan. She is also survived by three brothers, Dean Brown of Saint Paris, Donnell Brown of Troy, and Billy Brown of Sidney and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Jay Thornton, three sisters, Elsie Pyle, Lavelva "Blondie" Littlejohn, and Freda Webster, and four brothers, Marvin "Butch" Brown, Robert Brown, Kenny Brown, and Charles Brown. Cordella was a graduate of Saint Paris High School. She was the owner and operator of Cordella's Beauty Shop for fifty-three years in St. Paris. She was a former member of the St. Paris Friends of the Library and served many years on the St. Paris Library Board. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the St. Paris Public Library, 127 E. Main St., Saint Paris. Graveside committal services will be held at the convenience of the family in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris.
