Willard E. Grieser, age 95, of Saint Paris passed away at 11:13 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 in his residence. Born on December 15, 1920 in Clark County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Adam and Lula (Flora) Grieser. He married Thelma McCulla on November 27, 1943 and she preceded him in death on October 20, 1990. Together they raised three sons, one of whom survives: Mark (Ann) Grieser of Saint Paris. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Alisha (Brian) Kulich of Napa Valley, CA, Bryan Grieser of Columbus, OH, Josh Grieser of Springfield, OH, Emily Grieser of Saint Paris, Abby Grieser and fiancé Marko Flowers and his son Marko of Perrysburg, and Maggie Grieser and fiancé Zac Reuber and his son Beau Snapp of Saint Paris. In addition to his parents and wife, Willard was preceded in death by two sons, Philip and Wayne Grieser, a grandson, Scott Grieser, a brother, Carl Grieser, and a sister, Doris Sheets. Willard retired from PK Lumber, St. Paris and was a lifelong dairy and grain farmer. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and woodworking projects. He served his community on the Spring Grove Cemetery Board. He was also a member of the First Central National Bank Board, Champaign County Farm Bureau, and a 66-year member of Mt. Olivet Masonic Lodge, Christiansburg. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the ATKINS-SHIVELY FUNERAL HOME, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio. There will be Masonic services at 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Spring Grove Cemetery, N. Heck Hill Road, St. Paris, Ohio, with Reverend Mark Atterholt presiding.
