Brian Russel Cowan, age 40, of 5551 State Route 47, Houston, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2014, at his residence.
Brian was born on April 28, 1974, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to William and Karen (Ashbrook) Cowan of Houston.
Brian is survived by his parents; two brothers, William Shaun Cowan and his wife, Victoria, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Michael Cowan and fiancée, Sara Greve, of Piqua, Ohio; one sister, Dana Thompson and her husband, Herb, of Catawba, Ohio; his grandmother, Velura Cowan, of Piqua, Ohio; aunts and uncles, John Cowan and wife, Melony, of Covington, Ohio, Sue Schmiesing, of Bradford, Ohio, Linda Cowan, of Maplewood, Ohio, Jolene and Bill Shortridge, of Sidney, Ohio, Sherri and Allen Hutton, of Toledo, Ohio, Alan and Ellen Ashbrook, of Fort Loramie, Ohio; and numerous cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, William "Dugan" Cowan, Loyd and Lorain Ashbrook, and one uncle, Merlyn Ashbrook.
Brian loved to be outdoors and especially enjoyed working in the garden and tending to his plants and flowers. He also had a love for animals, especially cats and dogs. He enjoyed playing video games and also loved to read. He had an infectious personality and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services for Brian will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio, with the Rev. James Manuel officiating. Burial will follow at Houston Cemetery, Houston.
