DONALD E. HARP 92, of Piqua, formerly of Sidney, passed away Monday , May 5, 2014 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center with his daughter and granddaughter at his side. He was born on November 5, 1921 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Edward F. and Nora (Swob) Harp. On June 30, 1955 he married Eva F. Singer who preceded him in death January 26, 2000.

He is survived by one son, Earl E. Harp of Denver, CO, two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Keitha) Vale of Piqua, and Vera Bundrick of Abbeville, GA, Two sisters, Eileen Silvers of Sidney, and Mary Huffman of Piqua, fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Emerson Harp and two sisters, Marie Locker and Helen Pohlschneider.

Mr. Harp served his country as a U.S. Army Paratrooper in WWII from 1942 to 1945. He worked for many years at Stolle Corporation and then moved to Florida where he enjoyed his time as a custom cabinet maker. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion Post 217 , AMVETS, DAV and the VFW. Don loved to go fishing, work jig saw puzzles and spent many hours volunteering his time at the Sidney American Legion.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Houston Cemetery with Rev. James Manuel officiating. Full military honor's will be provided by American Legion Post 217.
