SELL, DANIEL - Stark County, Ohio | DANIEL SELL - Ohio Gravestone Photos

Daniel SELL

New Baltimore Cemetery
Stark County,
Ohio

This stone is pretty much - unreadable. However, this cemetery has placed markers of the person's name on tubes on the ground next to some of the very old headstones. If my research online is correct, Mr. Daniel Sell, died Feb. 02, 1902 --age 57 yrs. 1 mo. 2ds. He was born in New Baltimore, OH, and is buried here as well. If this information is correct, he would have been born in 1845 making him about 16 years old at the start of the American Revolution. This would explain the shield shape on his headstone as a Union soldier. After surviving the war, it looks as though he married. His death record states that he was a widower, but does not give any names of a spouse or of any children. His occupation is listed as a Laborer in Canton, OH.

Ohio salutes you, Daniel Sell. Thank you for your heroism, at such a young age, which changed our country forever.
