PETER DUMM joined Capt. Ritters 6th Battalion from Berks County, PA. when he was 26 years of age and fought for the American Revolution. During that was he also served under Capt. Von Herr who commanded the Light Dragoons. At the end of hostilities he returned to Berks County and married. In 1805 he left Berks County and traveled to what is now Ross County, Ohio with several other German Families."
