John G. White, the fourth child of Amasa Daniel White and Polly Tyler was born July 22, 1828 in North Adams, Jefferson County, New York. In 1830 and 1840 the family is living in Sandy Creek, Oswego County, New York. In 1850, John is living in Sandy Creek, Oswego County, New York, with his step-father, James B. Briggs, and in 1860, he is married to Julia Ann Rowbotham.
