Son John Warren Calvin, US Army, 561 Field Artillery Battalion, was killed during the Normandy Invasion; he died of wounds received on JUL 31, 1944, 30Y; SGT John Warren Calvin, recipient of the Purple Heart, is buried at the Normandy American Cemetery (St. Laurent), Colleville-Sur-Mer, France

Son Glendon McLain served in the US Navy during World War II; he was stationed in the South Pacific at the time of his brother's death. Glen moved to Yakima, then Vancouver, Washington, married there, three children; Glendon McLain Calvin died Nov 18, 2010, Vancouver, 86Y

Son Laurence Vivian married Leona Violet Jeffers, b Oct 29, 1904 Vinton Twp, on July 3, 1923, Marietta; parents of three children, all born in Radcliff; both life-long educators, Vinton, Athens, & Meigs counties, elementary & secondary; Laurence, retired as Professor of Industrial Arts at Ohio University, Leona, teacher, principal, instructor at Ohio University, Home Extension Agent in Ohio & Illinois; Laurence Vivian (1903-1975) and Leona Jeffers (1904-1990) Calvin are buried at Elk Cemetery, McArthur.

Son Leonard Clair married Georgia Gladys White, b May 28, 1905, Meigs Co, on June 20, 1925, Vinton County; Leonard, a teacher in Wilkesville, at Vinton Rural High School, biology teacher at Albany High School, chemistry teacher at Canal Winchester and West Lafayette High Schools, parents of five children; after retirement, returned to their home near Wilkesville. Leonard Clair (1905-1981) and Georgia Gladys (1905-1982) Calvin are buried at Salem Center Cemetery, Meigs County.

Son Frank Lester married Marguerite Viola Perry, b Nov 3, 1912, Vales Mill, on Apr 13, 1932, Greenup, KY; parents of two children, born in Clinton Twp, Vinton Co. Frank Lester, a maintence engineer, and Marguerite settled in Columbus. Frank Lester Calvin (1909-1986) is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus. Marguerite died in 2002, Peoria, Arizona.

Daughter Bertha Olive married George Arnold Knox, b Nov 13, 1899, Radcliff, on Oct 16, 1927, Jackson Co; George Arnold, Vinton Co. Auditor and banking executive, and Bertie, Deputy Auditor for 16 years, were the parents of four children, all born in McArthur. George Arnold (1899-1986) and Bertha Olive (1907-1984) Knox are buried at Elk Cemetery, McArthur.

Daughter Ruth Margaret married Raymond Franklin Burns, b Jul 9, 1912, Radcliff, on May 9, 1936, Boyd Co, KY; Raymond, a businessman, and Ruth were the parents of three children, born in Columbus; after Raymond's retirement, they returned to Vinton Twp. Raymond Franklin (1912-2000) and Ruth Margaret (1916-2002) Burns are buried at Radcliff Cemetery.

Daughter Marjorie Elizabeth married Carey O'Connol Hawk, b Apr 19, 1918, Wilkesville, on Feb 13, 1938, Columbus. Cary, a pipe fitter, and Marjorie were the parents a daughter born in Columbus; the family moved to Bedford, Garfield Heights, Cleveland. Carey O'Connol Hawk (1918-1997) is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, Geauga Co.

Fannie Elizabeth Calvin died NOV 27, 1967, Doctors Hospital, Nelsonville, 83Y, resident of her daughter's home in McArthur.

Lester Waldo (1856-1939) and Almira Kincaid (1854-1932) Calvin are buried at Hamden Cemetery.
Leonard (1852-1929) and Sarah "Sallie" McLain (1851-1923) Arbaugh are buried at Arbaugh/McCarty Cemetery.
